PODCAST MISSION

Ride the Omnibus was founded in the belief that ideas are connected across time and space, and that nothing occurs in a vacuum. Our mission as a podcast is to seek out those connections in popular culture that wind through the history of social change. We’ve interviewed Oscar nominees and Nobel Peace Prize nominees alike in our quest to educate and entertain.

The guests on this show come from across the world, possessing expertise in many different areas of knowledge. Comprised mainly of creators and educators, our guests are first and foremost passionate about their work and engaged in rich, complex conversations.

The topics can be focused on a theme, a creator, or a particular work. The choice to include varying topics from extreme horror movies to BBC radio comedy shows was deliberate. Listeners can choose individual episodes on topics that interest them or content they have consumed, or they can listen weekly to better understand a variety of topics and hear a number of in-depth conversations that connect to the world of ideas.

The subscribers for this show come from every continent across the world (except Antarctica – get it together, McMurdo Station!), and at the time of this writing, from 48 states in the US and 57 countries outside of it.
